Man arrested in NW Houston shooting

A man wanted in a fatal shooting in northwest Houston last month has been arrested.

Artavious Deon Hollins 27, was arrested Friday, Houston police said on Tuesday. Hollins is charged with murder, accused of killing 40-year-old Derrick Tyrone Williams.

Police said the two were arguing about 3:35 p.m. on Nov. 5 at an apartment complex courtyard at 4250 West 34th, west of T.C. Jester, when Hollins went to his apartment and got a gun. He returned to the courtyard and continued to argue with Williams. Hollins then shot him in the chest, police said, and fled.

Williams died at the scene.

  1. This is so not true and needs to be updated. Two men busted into artavious' house. One got shot and one got away to make up a big lie to save his own skin. Shame.

    1. This is the truth. He shot the guy in defense of his life. He is not the kind of person to shoot someone just because he felt like it or had nothing better to do.. the media always gets the details wrong..smh

  2. Did the shooting take place inside the apartment? If not then the witness probably got it right.
