HOUSTON – The city of Houston began Monday the demolition of a run-down apartment complex in the District B area.
The demolition of the Gables of Inwood Apartments, located at 5600 Holly View Drive, got under way around 11:30 a.m.
"This is a great day in the City of Houston, especially in the District B area, because for years this property has been an inhibitor to positive growth," said

Houston City Council Member Jarvis Johnson. "Such buildings have prevented community redevelopment and economic growth. I am proud of our continuing achievements in the mission to rid our neighborhoods of not only abandoned apartments, but also vacant homes, and buildings.
